The following Epic integration changes will be deployed on 10/25/2020:

(1) Wrong/Additional Users Showing up In Video Visits

For certain scenarios when a patient joined a meeting, the wrong user ID and/or user type is being reported in the connection status notifications sent to Epic. This resulted in Epic reporting an incorrect and/or an additional user attending the meeting. A fix will be deployed to address most of the scenarios causing this issue. A remaining scenario where a patient is logged into their Zoom client or zoom.us prior to attending a video visit, will be addressed in a subsequent release (if patients have a Zoom account, they should log out of the Zoom client and zoom.us before joining a video visit).

By default the fix for the above issue is not enabled. To turn on the fix, a new “Enable Random Name Changes” option in the integration configuration page must be enabled:

It’s possible that enabling the fix will result in missing connection status notifications for patients that join a video visit while logged in to their Zoom client or zoom.us. If this becomes an issue, you can enable the new “Block Zoom Client Logged-In User Notifications” option to help with this.

(2) No Space Between First and Last Names

Patients and providers that join a video visit using Zoom’s Andorid or iOS clients are seeing their first and last names displayed in the meeting without a space in between. This release will resolve the issue.

(3) Use CSN to Query Notification Records

The Epic integration “Notification Records” will be enhanced to allow records to be searched based on an Epic CSN number (in addition to a Zoom meeting ID). The Notification Records can be found by going to the Epic integration listing on the Zoom Marketplace and navigating to Manage tab -> Configure button -> Notification Records tab
