To standardize how meeting settings are used across Zoom’s integrations, Zoom will be making a change in mid-November to the “Old” Slack integration (the one enabled from the Zoom legacy integrations page). The “new” Slack integration (installed from the Zoom App Marketplace) already uses the new behavior described below.

Current behavior:

  • When a Zoom meeting is created using the Zoom bot within Slack, a PMI will be used for the meeting if the "Use Personal Meeting ID (PMI) when starting an instant meeting" setting is enabled.

New behavior effective mid-November:

  • When a Zoom meeting is created using the Zoom bot within Slack, a PMI will be used for the meeting if the "Use Personal Meeting ID (PMI) when scheduling a meeting" setting is enabled.

Please note that if your meeting settings require the use of a password, the password will be displayed in the Slack channel.
